Abstract
Memecoins are memes with a price. Like all memes they copy, mutate and compete, but today every copy is a rival: the moment a coin succeeds, dozens of imitations appear and drain its attention. Clade is a launchpad built on the opposite assumption. Every coin is born from a parent, and the whole family tree is public and permanent. Imitation stops being theft and becomes lineage.
Memes are genes
A meme survives by being copied. The copies are never perfect. A frog gets a hat, a dog gets a crown, a cat gets put in space. The variants that people find fit survive, and the rest disappear. That is evolution, and memecoin culture already runs on it.
What has been missing is heredity: a record of who descends from whom, kept somewhere nobody can rewrite it. Clade adds it.
The copycat problem
On an ordinary launchpad, a successful coin is followed within hours by “Baby”, “Classic”, “2.0” and “on Sol” versions of itself. Each one competes for the same buyers. The original gains nothing from being influential, and the copies gain from confusion.
Clade cannot stop people from copying, and it doesn't try to. Instead it changes what a copy is. A fork launched on Clade is a registered descendant: it grows on its parent's branch, its page points back to its ancestors, and its parent's page lists it as an heir. Attention flows both ways along the family line. The more a meme inspires, the bigger its family grows.
Birth
Every species enters the tree in one of three ways. Its specimen, the drawing that represents it on the tree, is inherited from its parents with a small random mutation, so families visibly resemble each other.
Root
An original idea with no parent. It branches straight from the common ancestor and starts its own family line.
Starts a new branch off $CLADE.
Fork
A variation on a living coin, like Baby, Turbo, Wif Hat or Dark. It inherits its parent's specimen with a small mutation.
Grows on its parent's branch, in front of its holders.
Splice
Two memes from different families crossed into one. Its genes are a mix of both parents, plus a mutation.
Joins both family trees at once.
Heredity on-chain
Every coin carries its own birth certificate. Its kind, its generation, its parents and the genes that draw its specimen are written into the very transaction that creates it, and the coin's metadata is locked at birth. A confirmed transaction can never be edited, so nobody, including Clade, can change a coin's ancestry afterwards.
The tree you see on this site is rebuilt from the chain alone. Anyone can read the same record and draw the same family.
A meme is worth what it inspires.
Fees
Every coin is a real pump.fun coin, so every trade pays pump.fun's fee: 1.25% at today's rates. It is split three ways.
| Recipient | Share of each trade | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Creator of the coin | 0.225% | Paid by pump.fun to the wallet that launched it. |
| Clade | 0.075% | Runs the family tree. |
| pump.fun | 0.95% | Runs the bonding curve and the PumpSwap pool. |
The split between creator and Clade is written at launch and locked forever, in the same transaction that creates the coin. The creator earns from the first trade, on every trade, and keeps earning after the coin graduates. Fees build up on-chain and pump.fun pays them out whenever anyone triggers a payout from the coin's page.
The curve
Every coin is born on its own pump.fun bonding curve holding its entire supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. There is no presale and no team allocation. The price rises as people buy and falls as they sell, and the coin is listed on pump.fun from the first second.
Once about 85 SOL has gone into the curve, the coin graduates: its liquidity moves into a PumpSwap pool and is locked for good, and it trades like any other Solana token, on any DEX or aggregator.
The common ancestor
At the centre of the tree is $CLADE. Every root species branches from it, so every coin on the platform is, eventually, its descendant.
$CLADE is the flagship of Clade and trades on pump.fun. The more the tree grows, in any direction, the more of the tree leads back to it.
What Clade is not
Clade is not an investment product and promises nothing. Most coins go nowhere, and creator earnings exist only when people trade. Treat every coin on the tree as an experiment you can afford to lose entirely.
How it runs: every coin is created by pump.fun as a Token-2022 token on its bonding curve, with no mint or freeze authority and its metadata locked. One transaction creates the coin, locks its creator-fee split through pump.fun's fee-sharing program, and records its lineage in a memo. pump.fun pays the creator's share directly to their wallet.
